We have all dealt with changes in our lives. It can be a very emotionally challenging time because it requires processing and acceptance. Many are not willing to put forth the effort of adapting to the decisions that surround them.
While there are some that easily run into the unknown with excitement, most are creatures of habit. They are comfortable where they are even if it drains them of their happiness. That familiar surrounding becomes a safety blanket in which they wrap themselves to hide. The mundane is predictable and void of risk. Most people are perfectly fine sitting in the pocket of indifference. They refuse to consider they could HAVE more. They could BE more!
People in this mindset crave to feel grounded. They want to bury roots but won’t take the time to water them and grow. They remain confined to the limitations that they have already accepted and settled for what that holds. That growth, that progress, it requires you to let go. That is a pivotal moment that ignites a panic that is difficult to cope with. So, I will ask the hard question here.
What are you afraid of?
I am not a stranger to this question. As a mom, I have had those moments when the weight of responsibility sat heavily on my shoulders. The fear of failure became so overwhelming. Knowing it was no longer your life alone that would be altered.
It is understandable to crave the security of your feet on the ground. However, time can present options suddenly that were not feasible before. When you arrive at the crossroads, will you choose the same path? I know I didn’t!
This leads me to a conclusion that it isn’t really about the change, but the reaction to change that defines our final outcome. Only God knows the future we have in store. If you knew you could maintain stability on the other side of change, would you take the chance? Would you trust His plan ?
Holding on and clinging to situations that hold you captive will leave you wanting. Time is a gift that is easily lost while you lock yourself away in your insecurities.
After all the changes I have endured, I would be doing you a great disservice if I didn’t stress this message to you. I guarantee, that when God shows himself and unlocks the door to your future, you should run..run into the destiny that awaits! There is nothing greater than what He has designed for you..
The clock starts now…
