To be Noble

As today is Mother’s Day, I felt like addressing the women out there. Whether you are a mom or wife now or will be someday, every moment in your life is preparing you for all that is to come! A scripture from our church service really resonated with me and I wanted to share from it. There is much to a woman that is unseen these days. The world has destroyed that vision of a good woman..a noble woman.

I’m writing this not to discourage but to elevate! I understand how the changing of times can make it difficult for you to meet expectations. I’ve seen how your worth is recognized less and less because of who you are and more by how you look….how your knowledge and strength can make you less desirable to many because of the power it gives you. You are expected to know all but your voice is questioned.

There are many positions that a woman holds in her life. As the centuries have passed they have only multiplied. I have worked very hard for all I have and the work only gets harder when you become a mom..especially when you are a working mom. Whether married or unmarried, there is honor in being a noble wife and a loving mother.

Let me summarize the scripture.. I will mention a few of these from Proverbs 31:10-31.

“A wife of noble character…who can find?”…She is worth far more than rubies

Her husband has full confidence in her and lacks nothing of value

She brings him good, not harm, all the days of her life

She works with eager hands

She gets up in the night to prepare food for her family

She buys a field and uses her earnings to plant a vineyard

She works vigorously; her arms are strong for her tasks

She sees that her trading is profitable, and her lamp does not go out at night

She opens her heart to the poor and extends her hand to the needy

She is clothed with strength and dignity;
she can laugh at the days to come.

She speaks with wisdom, and faithful instruction is on her tongue.

She watches over the affairs of her household
and does not eat the bread of idleness.

Her children arise and call her blessed; her husband also, and he praises her: “Many women do noble things, but you surpass them all.”

Charm is deceptive, and beauty is fleeting: but a woman who fears the Lord is to be praised.

Now, some may find they relate to some of these. However, this is only a few to aspire to. I read these and I want to remind all women that we are not perfect..we do what we can with what we have most days. I celebrate with you if you find yourself in these words.

It may feel like you can’t make it through the day, but you do. It may feel like you have nothing left to give, but you do. You may feel like you fail..but it’s only a lesson..an experience..that is molding you for greatness. If you always strive to be more, you will never fail! You will always be stronger than you were yesterday..wiser than the ones that didn’t and more admired for your drive to be so!

You are worthy! Look to God to heal your heart of it’s worries. Find your fighting spirit deep within and claim your future. I truly believe that when you do, it will be recognized. And when it is cherished, all of the work you put in will give you all you need to be the backbone in your household, the comforter to your children, the captain of your enterprise….

and a noble wife, indeed!
