The Waiting Room

However, as it is written: “What no eye has seen, what no ear has heard, and what no human mind has conceived” — the things God has prepared for those who love him—

1 Corinthians 2:9

Commit to the LORD whatever you do, and he will establish your plans.

Proverbs 16:3

So much can happen in a minute…an instant…the world shifts and suddenly the things of the past are seen differently.

Those moments…the good, the bad, the ugly…they were all for a reason. They molded you. They built you. They gave you knowledge, experience, insight and tools for your true purpose.

I had to take some reflection in this, because the moment you get a calling or purpose of what you are meant to do..it feels new. It feels different. It feels like change….

BUT, here is the truth. That calling is NOT new, it’s NOT sudden, and it’s not completely different. It was planned. Crafted even before you entered the world.

It was always your destiny.

The background you have, the childhood and family environment, the relationship ups and downs, the failed attempts and the successes, the sermons you watched, the people you met, and your spiritual journey with God…they were ALL for a purpose. They were all given to you to prepare you for this very moment.

These things built the layers of relatability you need to touch another life from a personal perspective. They put your heart and mind where it needs to be to have compassion and drive without being distracted. They taught you how to stay strong in a multitude of situations.

Now you know. You are prepared. You have conquered. Those things are not irrelevant, they are the stones of your fortress. Now that it is built, no storm can move it.

Remember, God doesn’t give us anything we cannot handle. If you are still struggling to know your purpose, take heart…your purpose and destiny is already planned. You are still in training. Don’t be discouraged that it hasn’t revealed itself yet..

Because destiny is not just what happens in an instant.

It’s what happens…

in the waiting room.
